History

In 1975, the Montana Sailing Associations "North Fleet" formed the North Flathead Yacht Club. Today's members will enjoy viewing the budget for the construction of the original clubhouse. In was a major undertaking for the members of the newly formed club. They worked hard constructing the original seawall during winter months and built the docks among existing pilings from yesteryear. The first Commodore of the club was Jim Thompson. Vice Commodore was Kerm Pearson, Rear Cmdr. Voelpel Guenter, Secretary was Lenore Jorgensen and Treasurer Don Halver. Ambitious and proud of their accomplishments, the club members soon had a facility that was the center of racing and cruising activity on Flathead Lake . more >>
